Good quality service-learning will grow in Australian schools if service-learning practitioners are generous enough to share ideas. In this section, there are a number of ways in which you can share your service-learning ideas with other interested teachers.
- Summarise Your Project: On this short template, you can summarise your service-learning project, add any teacher tips and final comments.
- Share Your Success: This comprehensive template will take some time and thought to complete, but it will be extremely helpful for those teachers who are serious about implementing good-quality service-learning.
- Show Your Story on You Tube: Now is your student’s chance to show how they are making a difference in the world, through service-learning. Send a video of the project, and we’ll put it on Service-Learning Australia’s You Tube Channel.
- Make a Suggestion: Let us know your suggestions, for example stories for our Newsletter, content you would like to see added, events you would like publicised.

If you have implemented a successful service-learning program, please tell us about it. On the short, “Summarise Your Project” template, we invite you to tell us about your project and include any “Teacher Tips” and “Final Comments”. We also ask if you would be happy for other teachers to contact you about your program; if so, we will add your name, email address and brief outline of your service-learning experience to the Service-Learning Practitioners' List. Other teachers will really appreciate your generosity and your students will love seeing their program described on the web site.

You are proud of what your students are achieving through service-learning. Now is their chance to show how they are making a difference in the world. Encourage them to shoot a video of their service-learning story, send it to us and we’ll show it on the Service-Learning Australia YouTube Channel.
What makes a good service-learning YouTube story?
- Have a clear beginning that describes the service goals, the learning goals and introduces the community partners.
- Show the project in progress.
- Tell the story in an interesting way, including any statistics (number of students and their ages etc.)
- Have a clear ending that describes what was achieved, what was learned, and gives plans for future projects.
- Note: The recording should be a maximum of 2-4 minutes in length and must be able to be up-loaded onto YouTube (remember, copyright music is blocked by You Tube).
The Process:

- Complete it.
- Attach any other documents, photos and PowerPoint presentations.
