Service-Learning Australia

Phase 6: Develop an Action Plan

Student direction (with your guidance and assistance) is an important part of service-learning, and students should be very involved in developing an Action Plan.  In developing the plan, encourage them to consider ways in which they can incorporate direct service, indirect service, research and advocacy into their service-leaning activity.  Part of the Plan should also include possible obstacles to achieving the goals and suggested action to take if these obstacles arose.

There are a number of TTT templates in the TTT Module that will assist students in planning their service activity.  The teacher’s action plan is the Template: "Designing Good Quality Service-Learning", or, for those of you starting to plan service-learning, the Template: "Towards Service-Learning".
